New legislation, SB 1187, passed during the 2021 General Assembly and effective July 1, 2021, extends the time allowed for a qualified physical therapist to evaluate and treat patients without a referral under certain circumstances from 30 to 60 days. Virginia Code § 54.1-3482.
With this change, the Board has revised the Direct Access Patient Attestation and Medical Release Form accessible on the Board’s Applications & Forms page.
