Information for Practitioners
Effective July 1, 2023, HB1846/SB1337 removes the requirement for a practitioner of medicine (0101) or osteopathy (0102), or a physician assistant, licensed by the Board of Medicine (0110), or a nurse practitioner jointly licensed by the Board of Medicine and the Board of Nursing (0024) to register with the Board of Pharmacy prior to issuing a written certification for medical cannabis to a patient for treatment or to alleviate the symptoms of any diagnosed condition or disease determined by the practitioner to benefit from such use. The written certification may be accessed through the Medical Cannabis Program Portal accessible here: https://patients.va.biotr.ac/. Please review the “Medical Provider Enrollment Instructions” document below for instructions on enrolling in the portal. Once enrolled access to the written certification will be provided.
