Tamper-Resistant Prescription Pads: Effective April 1, 2008, certain outpatient written prescriptions are required to be on tamper-resistant prescription pads. This includes enrollees of Medicaid, MEDALLION, FAMIS, and FAMIS Plus fee-for-service, and "dual eligibles" when Medicare Part D is the primary payor and Medicaid the secondary. This is the result of a federal law passed last year that affects certain prescriptions paid for by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
