What do I need to do before taking the national examination?

A completed Assisted Living Facility Administrator Licensure application is required before an applicant is approved to take the national exam through the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB).

Is there a state exam required for licensure?

There is no state exam requirement.

How many times can I take the Resident Care/Assisted Living (RCAL) exam?

NAB does not restrict candidates on the number of times they can take the CORE, NHA, or RCAL examinations in a calendar year.
