Assisted Living Facility Administrator Renewal FAQs

How and when do I renew my license?

You must renew your license each year by March 31st. Go to the Online Licensing webpage and follow the instructions on the page to renew.

I am an active-duty serviceperson that missed my renewal because I was deployed outside of the Unites States at that time. Is there an extension for my renewal?

An extension of time for active duty servicepeople and their spouses is permitted. The DHP Policy allows a licensee to make arrangements to ensure that persons or their spouses serving on active duty as a member of the military or in Foreign Service outside the U.S. are given an extension for any deadline or requirement pertaining to the renewal of a license, certification, or registration. Extensions are granted for at least sixty (60) days after the person's return to the U.S., not to exceed five (5) years from the date of expiration.

A Copy of Military Orders placing the licensee on active duty outside the United States is considered sufficient documentation to determine eligibility for an active-duty extension. A written request for the extension of renewal fee/continuing education should include the projected return date to the U.S.

Do I need to notify the Board if I choose not to renew my license or if I retire from my profession?

No. Your license automatically expires if not renewed by the deadline. You do not need to notify the Board in any way.
