Supervisor Information

To become a Social Work supervisor in Virginia, the person must meet the requirements of 18VAC-140-20-50 (B) of the Regulations Governing the Practice of Social Work, including but not limited to:

• Hold an active LCSW license in Viriginia,
• Have at least 2 years of post-licensure clinical social work experience, and,
• Have completed the required supervisor training

Supervisor Registry:

The Board has created an Approved Supervisor Registry of supervisors who have applied to, and been approved by, the Board of Social Work. You can search for approved supervisors by City, Zip Code, or First and Last Name.

Supervisor Approval Application:

If you are interested in becoming a supervisor and being listed on the Board’s Approved Supervisor Registry, please complete the Application to be a Board-Approved Supervisor
