You have indicated that you meet the criteria to apply for licensure by reciprocity.
Virginia has entered into a reciprocal licensure agreement with the contiguous state/jurisdiction of Maryland and the District of Columbia. The licensure by reciprocity process allows qualified physician assistant applicants who are currently licensed in any of these contiguous jurisdictions to forego primary source verification of core credentials and allows Virginia Board of Medicine staff to recognize a medical license issued by another party state to expedite the processing of a reciprocal license. Board staff will obtain electronic verification of licensure directly from the appropriate contiguous state or jurisdiction prior to issuing a license.

Do not complete a reinstatement application if your license has been expired for less than TWO years, to reactivate a license from inactive status, or if you are trying to reinstate a license that has been suspended/revoked or surrendered in lieu of disciplinary action.
