Changing License Renewals to Birth Months

The regulations Changing License Renewals to Birth Months went into effect on August 19, 2020.  The changes will be implemented in the upcoming 2021 renewals which will be sent out in February to all current licensees. The renewal fees provided below were reduced and are prorated based on the number of months from April 1, 2021 to the last day of each licensee’s birth month in 2022.

 Here are two examples:

1. a licensee born in January renews in March of 2021 and receives a new license with an expiration date of January 31, 2022; and
2. a licensee born in October renews in March 2021 and receives a new license with an expiration date of October 31, 2022.  

Concurrent with the change in expiration dates, a dental or dental hygiene licensees’ compliance with the annual continuing education requirements will also shift to each licensee’s birth month in 2022. 

For the renewal of an active DENTAL LICENSE in 2021, a reduced $15 monthly fee will be prorated according to a licensee's birth month as follows:

For the renewal of an active DENTAL HYGIENIST LICENSE in 2021, a reduced  $4 monthly fee will be prorated according to a licensee's birth month as follows:

For the renewal of an active DENTAL ASSISTANT II REGISTRATION in 2021, a reduced $3 monthly fee shall be prorated according to the registrant's birth month as follows:
