What to do if you haven't received your license in the mail:

• You may contact the board either via bodlicensing@dhp.virginia.gov or 804-367-4583 to find out when the Board mailed your license.  
• If you are renewing your license, you will NOT receive another license in the mail.  Beginning in 2023 the Board of Dentistry ceased mailing hard-copy licenses, certifications, permits, and registrations on a yearly basis for our regulated professions. A final hard copy was issued in 2022. Please view additional information here. 
• If you are an initial licensee or requested a duplicate license, please know that all licenses are mailed via USPS.  However, the Board is aware that there are delays within the mailing system of USPS (sometimes up to 8 weeks), which the Board has no control over.  The Board will NOT mail you another duplicate license, unless your license has been returned to the Board via USPS as undeliverable. 
• Please ensure the Board has your accurate mailing address 
• If you are needing your license immediately then you have the following options:
• Mailing a pre-paid UPS/Fed-EX envelope to the Board (this way you would have a tracking number) and the Board will mail your license in this envelope.
• Obtain your license at the main office (in person)
