The Virginia Board of Dentistry has learned of scammers attempting to defraud licensees across the state of Virginia by posing as Department of Health Profession Investigators and/or the Executive Director.

In accordance with Executive Order Number Thirty-Seven (2024) and the state of emergency issued by the Governor of Virginia on September 25, 2024 for those affected by Hurricane Helene, the Board of Dentistry may grant a renewal extension upon individual request for licenses and registrations expiring between September 25 and November 9, 2024.

SB1539 was passed and will be effective July 1, 2023. However, the bill requires that the Board of Dentistry create regulations, prior to a General Dentist administering botulinum toxin injections cosmetically.
