The content on this page is intended for administration, faculty, and staff of Virginia’s approved education programs as well as those wishing to establish an education program in Virginia. Be advised the Virginia Board of Nursing does not regulate or approve out of state or post licensure nursing education programs.

Orientation on Establishment of a PN or RN Pre-Licensure Nursing Program
*Sessions are held twice each year. The material covered is the same in each session.
Prior to submission of an application and fee to establish a nursing education program, 18VAC90-27-30 (1) requires the program director attend a Board orientation session. This session will include a review of regulation and information regarding the application process.

Preparation and Regulation Review for Program Directors and Faculty of PN and RN Pre-Licensure Nursing Programs
*Sessions are held three times each year. The material covered is the same in each session.
Nursing education program directors and faculty members are encouraged to attend this session to assist in the understanding of regulatory compliance. Program staff and administration are also welcome. This year the sessions will focus on preparation for continued approval survey visits and reviewing the Regulations Governing the Nursing Education Programs.
